| [TWE training] What are some of the qualities of a good parent? Use specific details and examples to explain your answer.|
There are many of the qualities that are required to be a good parent since raising a child is one of the most difficult jobs in life. In my view, good parants would be not only emotionally attached with their children but also faithful to the strict discipline. In addition, they would like to give their children encouragemnet, which inspires them to do their best.
First, good parenting requires balancing warm affection with firm control. In other words, a good parenting keeps the correct balance of mutually opposing qualities. Being loved is extremely critical enough to mature young children emotionally. Even while disciplining, good parents are expecially adept at letting children know that they are still cared for because firmness is the other side of parenting. Despite the controversial argument about the punishments in their lives, children need adults to control them; parents can play a key role in teaching them the invaluable skill of self-discipline. More importantly, when parents are viewed as caring and not simply angry, children tend to internalize the message that there is a consequence, good or bad, for their behaviors. Thus, a good education for children starts at home where warmth and control go hand in hand.
Moreover, words of praise do a lot to help a child build their confidence and self-esteem. Good parents tend to give their children plenty of pep talk to comply with expectations they put on them. Healthy children are encouraged by their parents to behave well, not afraid of punishment. A lot of positive comments about them and their behavior lead to their positive way of thinking. The point parents should remember is that children often make mistakes because they are still learning. It is educationally important to focus on a gradually improved process, not on a suddenly achieved consequence. With words of encouragement in accordance with each phase, children feel motivated to keep trying a new area such as reading a book and learning the piano. Hence, a word of praise would serve as a springboard to a higher level of maturity and development.
In conclusion, it is no exaggeration to say that the future of children depends on the qualities of their parents. Good parenting comes when there is the balance between affection and discipline. Encouragement is another nutrient for children's growth. Therefore, a good parent can be a good model taht his or her child tries to imitate.
